With a title of “Canace”, this masque has been created to reflect the movement of oceanic waves. It has been covered with two layers of blue/green sequinned lace overlaid with further single layer of black netting to give it the ‘feel’ and colouring of Neptune’s realm. Deconstructed silver braid evoking the foam on waves breaking on the shore has been heavily embossed with pearl, glass and crystal beading, miniature rhinestones in varying shades of blue, and blue-shot glass seed beads. Deconstructed findings of seahorses and a hand painted three-masted sloop have been centrally set.
