This 73cm x 58cm masque has been covered in dark blue velvet, Japanese and English brocades and Chinese silk satin with overlays of gold net and various deconstructed braidings. Carrying the name, “Risqué”, heavy embossing with a variety of rhinestones, pearls, vintage findings and Swarovski elements. has also been applied.
Sited beneath and in front of the swirling headdress sits a coronet created from deconstructed AB and vintage jewellery which has been set around a hand-glittered pale pink rose. The dazzling jewellery and delicate rose colouring combine to provide a beautiful ‘pop’ of colour against the darker tones of the base materials.
The rear placement of silver-spangled gold branching together with sparsely-gilded tassels, a nestle of pink and black roses, and a sumptuous lace ruff set above star-spangled gold circlets, complete this work.
