I have used the reverse side of a beautiful gold-on-gold brocade as the base colouring and overlaid it with a glistening gold netting to add a subtle but noticeable layer of festive sparkle.
The centrepiece is a round vintage brooch inset with silver rhinestones which I’ve surrounded with a luxurious swathe of heavily hand-embossed scroll braiding on either side, and it set under a glittering star-like spadix. Cream half pearls, silver rhinestones and gold-toned Swarovski pearls were then placed to provide a further subtle touch of opulent interest.
Under the brooch a tear shaped dark umber rhinestone has been set into which the cascades of embossed gold draping meet and from which trails a rhinestone flower.
“Theia’s” upper edge has been finished with an unusual pearl bead braiding which merges into pale ember flowering on each peak.
With a scattering of miniature rhinestones and gold Swarovski elements providing tiny flashes of light and an unusual gold-toned scallop braid along the lower edge, “Theia” has been created to suggest a level of subdued opulence that will attract interest and attention to its wearer at any and every festive gathering.
